Ghana China Friendship Association (GHACHIFA)

GHACHIFA is a friendship association and a not-for-profit organization with the aim of fostering the friendship ties between the good people of the Peoples’ Republic of China and the Republic of Ghana in the areas of economic, social, political, cultural and diplomatic spheres.


The mission of GHACHIFA is to:  

(a)      enhance friendship and promote deeper collaboration between the peoples, institutions and competent authorities of Ghana and China,

(b)      strengthen the bond of solidarity which happily exists between the two countries

(c)      foster collaboration in the political economic, social and cultural spheres, and

(d)     encourage exchange of visits, initiate and promote projects of mutual benefit to Ghana and China.

Some of the activities and functions of GHACHIFA are to:

(a)        develop and use planning strategies that enable it  to fully achieve its aspirations and forge very close ties between the two peoples of Ghana and China.

(b)        provide business, social and cultural advice for the benefit of all and sundry, and especially those who have interests in relating to business organizations in Ghana and China.

(c)        carry out research and training activities to assist   students and other GHACHIFA partners relate to China, and

(d)        participate in activities of the Chinese organizations, such as cultural, education and so on.

(e)        collaborate with the Ghana-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) and the Embassy Of The Peoples Republic of China in Accra for partnerships in business, education, trade fairs, conference and seminars, etc.


Membership of the Association is open to all Ghanaians and Chinese resident in Ghana. Membership is based on national and regional basis. In the near future, membership would be opened to Ghanaians and Chinese resident in CHINA when offices are opened in China.

Other Information:

·          GHACHIFA is also engaged in the promotion of Sister City relationships and currently signed an MoU with the Fujian Province towards fostering partnerships and promoting both nations

·          GHACHIFA is working to liaises with corporate bodies and the private sector both in Ghana and China for industrial attachments for students as well as exchange programmes for families and students.

·          GHACHIFA is currently undertaking feasibility studies into the establishment of a Ghana-China Cultural Village
