As part of The Year of Return 2019.

Join us in commemorating our annual observance of Black History Month.
With the African American Association of Ghana and the US Embassy.

The African American Association of Ghana has historically celebrated Black History Month in February of each year to highlight and educate the Ghanaian community at large on the experiences, achievements and successes of African Americans throughout history, and to use the month as an opportunity to facilitate the cultural, social, educational and economic integration of African Americans and other persons from the Diaspora into Ghanaian society.

As 2019 marks the 400th year since the first documented arrival of enslaved Africans to the shores of America, it is necessarily a year of both reflection on the past and anticipation for the future.  With that as a guiding principal AAAG aims to spotlight the unique connection between African Americans, Americans and Ghanaians by creating platforms for discussion, learning and cross-cultural collaboration.
